Sheikh Haron's Website: Dear Yasin, Wa Alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullah! Thank you for your contact. Muhammad Bhatti from Sydney Australia: Assalamoalaikum. My name is Muhammad Omar and i am from Pakistan. I just got married in Pakistan and the ceremony was held in a mosque. Now I want to apply dependent visa for my wife. But DIMIA needs photographs as a proof which i dont have. I just need fatwa or authentic proof that photography is not allowed in our religion, As the marriage was took [sic] place in mosque. Can you help with that or can u guide what else can i do to get this. Thank you very much. Looking forward to your reply.

Sheikh Haron's Website: Dear Muhammad, Wa Alaikum Assalam. Thank you for your contact. Congratulations and Mubarak to you and your wife. Unfortunately we are unable to help you in regards to Immigration, also Sheikh Haron won't issue a Fatwa stating that photography is not allowed in our religion. We believe that DIMIA is right and you should show them some evidence to prove your marriage is genuine. If you don't have photos, you may show them some other types of evidence. If you have not been able to provide photos because of your religious belief, they should respect that, you don't need to show them a Fatwa or document. Any religious belief you have, whether it is right or wrong, with Fatwa and authentic proof or without, they are supposed to respect your religious opinions according to the law. Please note there is religious discrimination in Australia, particularly against Muslims. so if you feel they discriminate against you and show no respect for your religious belief about photography, we then recommend you to contact Human rights and Equal Opportunity Commision, at: Level 8, Piccadilly Tower, 133 Castlereagh Street, Sydney NSW 2000. Complaints Infoline: 1300 656 419 or (02) 92849888. SMS: 0488744487. Fax: (02) 9284 9611 Email: complaintsinfo@humanrights.gov.au Dear Muhammad, if still you have difficulties please share your problems with Sheikh Haron or with any other Australian Muslim Clerics. If a Muslim is oppressed it is the duty of all Muslims particularly Muslim Clerics to support her/him and defend against oppression. Please let us know about the result, if you like. Good luck.
