Dear Madam,
Inaccurate
Reports
I am writing to let you know about few inaccurate
reports in the articles published by Nationwide News Pty Ltd in “News.com.au”, “The
Australian”, “The Daily Telegraph” and “Herald Sun” dated 20 June 2008.
All four newspapers mentioned above in their
articles 20th June 2008 have published few different inaccurate
reports. The following issues are some of them as examples:
1. Adding
the word VIOLENT before the word JIHAD. This inaccurate report will encourage
people to commit violent activities and it is necessary to urgently correct it
and publish the accurate one before anyone commits a crime as a result of misleading
by your inaccurate report.
2. My
site has explained that there are few conditions for legitimate suicide attack
but the article has mentioned only one of those conditions. Your articles say: The site also tells followers they are
obliged to commit suicide bombing “when the enemy attacks”.
Some
Muslims by reading your articles have thought that the only condition for legitimate
suicide attack was: “when the enemy attacks” and there are not any other
limits and conditions for legitimate suicide attack. It is necessary to correct
your inaccurate reports urgently and to mention ALL of the conditions for the legitimate
suicide attack before any person commits a crime as a
result of your inaccurate reports.
3. The
articles have inaccurately reported: Several
other YouTube posts by the Sheikh feature the sounds of gunshots and bombs
behind radical calls to arms. The gunshots and bombs sound effects in the
preface of the videos about Afghanistan reflect the war conditions of that
country and it doesn’t mean it is a call to arm people.
Kind regards,
Sheikh Haron
